Is it still a proper EscCos if I do it??? I am just really tired of rusty caps/nut.

 

no but i want to put plastic glued ones in, as I never will use my normal windows with the rear seats removed

I read somewhere resently that Escort 3dr rears fit straight over without needing anything .. beside the window and seal ofcause.

 

the caps are pennies from ford just change them I did mine 4 years ago and there still fine now

yes Steve.. I know and so are the grommets in the window, og dead easy to change, but I am not happy with the rusty water down the window, and comes back even when I brush the nuts before refit the caps. Now I think of doing the replacement cause it should be sp easy... fit and forget

yes everything taken out, all damping material and so on as well.

yes the normal 3 rd escort rear windows will fit, as well as the complete doors.

I m thinking to get polycarbonate rear windows.

not really through as i m looking for a possible supplier and prices.

 

paint the bolts with a spray primer, that will stop them rusting, and put a little bit of sealant/ jointing compound on the back, the non hard setting stuff, that will A) stop the bolts rusting, and B) stop water getting in and causing corrosion, which then stops rusty water running down your window

I took mine out....never opened them!!! All caged out so can't get in back.
mk5 3dr one go straight in though.
Oh and if you want the windows in perspex...I can do them.

 

Think will do it some day in the near by future .. Perspex may be something for Sim

I think it gives a very smooth look without them caps, even though they are very small.. nice escort cossymad

 

Mine is a standard model and didnt come with pop out rear windows from the factory
