8 injectors...now this could be the dumest question ever
Could you,by using a WRC inlet,run 8 greens at the same time..ie split into the 4 original injector loom and power up all 8 at the same time?
Is that at all mapable on a L6/L8/P8 without the 8 injector software?....Not worried about emmissions.......in theory this is possible isnt it?????Surely an expert could do this???????

Because of emmisions and lack of mapping knowledge in the old days

simple answer... yes
i dunno about cossie ECUs, but most stuff like EECIV only have 2 injector drivers anway and these are spliced together in the loom. no reason why you couldnt add more, as long as you dont overload the circuit and fry the injector driver (bit like if you try n run high impedence injectors on a cossie ECU)
as for voltage drops wes, the injectors receiving a CONSTANT live and are opened/closed with a switched earth, so getting the correct FEED to them isn't a problem

no phil, you have peak and hold injectors (low impedence) so this is certainly not the case. it would deffo need a serious looking over by someone like stu (who has done this good idling stuff) to get the fooker to even idle let alone idle legally
you have also just lost 50% resolution over your fueling... that'll be fun
and you're trying to make a component do something its not supposed to do which presumably cant be good.

Jim is 100% correct.
Injectors have a permenant 12v live and are operated by the ECU earthing them out.
Low impedence injectors require a lot of voltage to operate them so by doubling up you will be doubling the voltage the ECU has to ground.
Forget about the fact you will half the open duration, you will still be doubling the power the drivers have to put to earth.
Also the idea if 8 injectors is so that at low revs only 1 set operate, this helps prevent fuel drop out in the slow moving intake air.

also, you engine is a complete one off and nobody has ever put those components together in an engine before what off the shelf chip are you actually buying for it...
unless its a custom chip by some clever bods at colins that theyve estimated the fueling/spark requirements based on their many years of experience at this sort of thing
which would then ofcourse need checking afterwards and then if it needs adjustments (which ofcourse it probably will) you'd need to get done again, and again and again
which works out the same price
by my maths, if the ECU and 8inj addon are less than 500quid you will save money
but you will only save that money over the s8
so say s8 is 500quid
and ecu + addon is 200quid
then youve saved 300quid, result
you are NOT however saving money in the MAPPING... if you think you are then you ARE cutting corners... this is the fundemental thing you're missing... you're compromising yourself for the sake of a few quid... infact youre compromising yourself even more as i'm 99% sure youre not gonna get it done properly and youre just gonna buy a chip off the shelf like the last one which was NOT designed for your spec at all

but- surely as run 8 injecotrs in pairs, why not just run 4 at twice the flow rate - less to go wrong, less wiring etc? or are thinking .... ive got 8 greens lying around for free so lets make use of them..?
