Look what I've done.....
Got to work today just after 7am this morning. 7.20am theres a knock on the door. Its a HOVIS bread delivery driver. Basically my handbrake failed , and it was rolling towards a brick wall and a parked up Mercedes.
Anyway, the lorry driver realised no-one was in the car, banged his truck in reverse and managed to stop my car going towards the wall and the car. Anyway sadly its taken my rear bumper completely out, the light completely out and has caused a kink to the quarter above the light and below the light.
Hopefully it can be knocked out.
**If anyone knows of a Magenta bumper for sale, can they please PM me.
Shite matey, not good
Good story from the trucker though - I'll remember that one for when I ram a car whilst out in my wagon!
Good of him to try and help though - now bill him for the damage

I would have no choice but to go through the insurance.May as well pay this out me pocket and not claim.
I never actually thought until it said above but how do you know this guy didnt do that damage himself and just made up some bullshit so he doesnt have to fork out?
If he was telling the truth then good on him, you could have been facing big repair bills for a merc

Did your handbrake actually fail, or were you giving it a thrashing on the ay to work, then parked it on a hill using the handbrake? Cos it could be that the rear discs cooled down, which means they shrink a bit in size and the handbrake wasn't on tight enough anymore to hold it

Well, i managed to try and knock out some of the dent, i think the rest is best left now to a professional, fitted a new light cluster thanks to a mate, just need to source a Magneta bumper
mines back into the spray shop tuesday. via a taxi driver
but hes paying for the bill
btw i always place the car in gear when i leave it.parked up
if you have been booting the car the disks can shrink allowing the h-brake to fail
bit late now but a thing to do.in hindsight
sozz i always speed read through the replys THRUSH spot on
hovis thats fuckin class the hovis lorry roun d my way has crashed ointo two of the managers at work one was in a new vectra and the other a porche boxter it was the same driver on the same corner the second one was his first day back after the first it was the cars fault

thats what i do as my handbrae failed and my frshly painted front end was on my house
when i woke up the day after i had the front end painted
sorry to hear about the car mate
but its worth noting that thats what you have to do to sierra brakes
