Did your handbrake actually fail, or were you giving it a thrashing on the ay to work, then parked it on a hill using the handbrake? Cos it could be that the rear discs cooled down, which means they shrink a bit in size and the handbrake wasn't on tight enough anymore to hold it

Good point. I wouldnt say thrashing but its 6 miles of dual carriegway with 3 roundabouts and i errr didnt want to be late but i guess that could be a cause.
