Default How accurate is Santa Pod??

After seeing various posts about 'proper' proof that a car does this speed, this 0-60 etc etc i just thought id ask how accurate santa pod times are, as i got a 14.36 quarter mile, but looking through a few old mags, it seems quite quick for a 200bhp escort turbo??

Just dont want to look a twat (even more than i am lol) when telling people and then them turning round and saying 'no wonder you got that time at santa pod'

good time there mate you must have put the power down well
santa pod is used for big drag racing events and defo the most accurate 1/4 track in the uk.
what were your 60ft times like and your terminal speeds?

sounds about right for the 60ft, so sounds like you were staged ok (bit of a low terminal tho for 200bhp )

i saw a standard VTR saxo run a suposed 13sec QTR... with a <0.5sec 60ft time...

he didnt seem to "get it" when i told him the time was wrong... lol

hard to say, depends on the driver, how its setup and how laggy it is etc
maybe mid 13s, however if you can sort out the traction youll get better

They hold proper drag events there, so am sure its bang on.

Seems about 0.5 sec slower than up ere (north) tho!

Power at Flywheel (BHP) 300
Weight without Driver (KG) 930
Drive Type Front Wheel Drive (FWD)
Power To Weight Ratio (BHP/Ton) 327.76
0-60mph (Secs) 4.23
0-100mph (Secs) 9.66
60-100mph (Secs) 5.43
Quarter Mile (Secs) 12.53 @ 113.89 MPH
Drag Quarter Mile (Secs) 12.33 @ 116.03 MPH

What a 300 RST should achieve

A focus with 300 RST engine is more like (depending on weight)

Power at Flywheel (BHP) 300
Weight without Driver (KG) 1200
Drive Type Front Wheel Drive (FWD)
Power To Weight Ratio (BHP/Ton) 254.01
0-60mph (Secs) 4.78
0-100mph (Secs) 10.89
60-100mph (Secs) 6.11
Quarter Mile (Secs) 13.08 @ 109.60 MPH
Drag Quarter Mile (Secs) 12.88 @ 111.60 MPH

Well i cant say what a ERST should get but i know that a standard rover tomcat, that has 197bhp standard gets 14.9 @ 94mph.

My car has 243bhp and from a 2.6 60ft time i managed a 14.508 @ 99.98mph. This was on a very very hot day.

Depending on your gear changes etc anything from 14.1 to 14.8 sounds right for a 200bhp RST.

I reckon its about as accurate as they come

Other wise- it wouldn;t be europes premier drag strip and Britains best.
BIG drag teams and F1 teams wouldn't run there cars there- you would want the best of the best too if you had millions of pounds of budget
