Nice one good how you're all creeping out of the wood work and i think you meant amstrad 900 / 901 lol,
Tangodeltasierra3 technically no i dont suppose it is legal to use one on the road but loads do and theres no specific law for this YET and don't suppose there ever will do,
Anyway with a decent power mic you can hold it on your knee while you talk trust me

Those were the days!! i've still got a couple of things up in the loft. In the past i've had a rotel 240, york 863. 2x ham jumbo, ham multimode, hy-gain 5. Sold most of my stuff on ebay last year, shame really. I would like to buy another but there doesn't seem to be as "cool" as it was.
Come on guy's, let's have ur handle's, mine was Captain Chaos.

Cant remember the models of rigs we used to have. I do remember having a mag mount on a biscuit tin, a 21foot silver rod on 6m pole in the garden, council sent me a letter to take it down because it was over the roof ridge in height. We went mobile one night the the biccy tin mag mount car battery and rig in a shopping trolley
My handle was malcom the milkman or weedman
Loved echo mics and roger beeps!

Still got a cheepy Kernow Rig which I may install into my shitbox Escort
used to be known as "Oil Slick" back in the days
Used to have a rather illegal 100 watt kicker aswell - could wipe out the televisions for a few miles with that baby

I remember one year must have been 12 at the time so we're talking around 1983 being on holiday on the Isle of Mull(off the West of Scotland) and carrying a CQDX convo with a ham opperator in France(all that with 4watts
) made my holiday that did
