DOES ANYONE HAVE ONE OF THEM STEALTH SHELVES IN THEIR ESCORT COSWORTH? I FANCY UPGRADING MY SOUND SYSTEM AND WASNT SURE ABOUT THESE SHELVES?

or even swap you my one with 6 x 9 holes in it for your uncut one!

 

I have one mate, Its a bit old now and will need a retrim but I was happy with it. Ill get a picture up for you. Only thing I would say is not to put too big a speaker in the shelf as it cracks the plastic where the shelf sits on. I had to replace my ones from an escort GTi

 

Here are a couple pictures of mine... I have removed the center speaker now and will be sorting out the 7x10's in the near future. I want to get it recovered in material closer to the original stuff and colour.

Yeah they do weigh quite a bit due to the two layers of MDF they use to make the shelf. To be honest a set of 7x10 speakers in it is just on the limit really for the plastic bits the shelf sit on. If your thinking about putting anymore speakers in it then definately think about putting in extra support for the shelf or they snap

I THINK I WOULD ONLY PUT A SET OF 7x10 ON IT. ANY IDEA HOW MUCH THEY SELL FOR??

 

If the old memory serves me right I paid about £50 for it about 5-6 years ago.

 

i have 7"x10" kenwood HQ's in my stealth shelf

speakers are about £90 and the shelf £50/£60 approx
rubber shelf straps about 50p from ford
