No mine is a G plate, but i looked at buying a Q plates XR2 Turbo once and couldn't find a single insurance company that would cover a Q plate.

The only q plated cars they will insure is Kit cars.

Basically the S1 was insured FC, classic car policy when originally on the C reg with HIC at a VERY GOOD ŁŁŁŁ....

then the shit hit the fan and the car was Q plated.....

rang the insurance company ans was told that there would be no change to the policy....no price difference at all

ONLY thing that needs to be proved more is the VALUE, which should be accompanied with photos of the car, etc. Never got round to it as i knew car was going to be RE-RE-STORED and would be off the road for a year!!!

so no, i didn't need to go TPFT as i could still FC it......BUT dunno wether this will change next time i come to insure it with HIC....can't see how..........but if i end up going TPFT, then so be it.....shit happens...i love that car and wouldn't have nowt else!!!!

hope this helps mate!!!!!

I had nightmares with my ex rally rs1800 But after speaking to a few peeps and getting engineers report ect And a report saying the car had not been stolen recovered ect it was built from a shell bla bla a receipt for a fiesta shell made up Lots of insurance companies where much more happier to help. Privalige was actually the cheapest and trust me i rang every ins company in the yellow pages
