Default OMG -Car could have caught fire! Please guys check ya wiring

Got my mate round tonight to change bushes, bushes werent a prob, it was ANOTHER loose bolt

So, left it at that....

Was looking round the car generally, and noticed these 2 problems

LOOK at the state of that wiring!!

A "little" more concerning, the wire above had shorted through to chassis and over time caused the air filter to burn, how bad could that have been!!!

Still glad I found it!!!

Anyone got a spare filter

I almost set my car on fire yesterday aswell.

While welding in a rear wheel arch the waxoil in the sill caught fire.

Ever seen burning waxoil dropping out of the holes in the sill onto your garage floor?

Also damaged a bit of the wiring loom that goes to the rear lights...

Basically, the car HAS had a brand new loom, both normal loom and cossie management loom, the wires above control the fans from the temp sensor, just when they were connected up originally they were soldered very badly.

Karl wouldnt have known about this as it was all taped up.

As said, very lucky
