Right, I'm goin to look at an RS1800 next week and was wondering if anyone can tell me are there any problems to look out for specific to the RS1800. It's a 94 model so it's on the mk3.5 shell and whatnot....

Also what kind of power can be obtatined from the engine and what's the best way to get it!!!

Hi Matt,

I have genuine 68,000k rs 1800 FSH which is mint (which is for sale btw)

However most of them are rotten, cained and generally a waist of time! Remember only 500 were ever made so they are very rare.

1) Look for RUST, arches, boot, under the body kit

2) On the test drive check the car pulls hard over the rev range, keep an eye on the temp gauge!

3) Buy a car with as much history as possible , most of the examples I looked at had no history , dirty oil, worn brakes

4) HPI IS A MUST!!!!

If you buy a good example they are FAR better than the turbo! Good luck
