Default My Mk 1 1981 sandpiper new wheels

hi all. my 1st day here :P not long had my mk1. i'm in 2 minds what to do with it. i plan on using it as my 1st car. do i 1. mod it or 2. keep it standard because of the condition of it. i like the Euro style look specially after seeing some others on the net. any suggestions welcome!!
is the sandpiper quite rare because i cant find any on the net?

any ways heres some pics of mine.

WOW, that looks absolutely mint!!!

I'd leave it standard to be honest. It's so clean, why spoil it.

Welcome along anyway

Cool motor!

Mk1's rule.

I'd do some sensible mods for sure.

I'm dropping a 2.0 into my Mk1

cheers all. dont think i'll using anything bigger than a 1.1 at the moment. 1st car so would cost a bomb for a 1.7 or 2.0.

will be doing some mods but nothing major, wheels n lower it, keeping the standard parts to to put back on when i come to sell

@ Phil DJ - yea kettering only a few mins up the road :P may see me in it on the streets of kettering soon lol

yea i do like the euro style look. did a few things to the car today. new exhaust (just standard) gott the back washer jet working, brake fluid wiper blades good clean in and out. just need to get a set of tryes and a battery bracket then she'll be in for her MOT. took some more pics. better quality.

Well if you're looking for a local forum to join, check out www.pure-torque.com

There's some car entusiasts on there based around our area and I can guarentee they'll love your car.

I still can't get over how clean it is. Just out of interest, how many owners has it had and what's the mileage? It looks like it's been really well looked after that's why I ask

i think so, going by its condition. not sure though. before i had it it had been sitting for 3 years. didn't run. all it needed was a fuel pump. hopefully getting her MOT'd in the next 2-3 weeks just need the bracket and a full set of tires and touch wood she's on the road. not me yet though few lessons to go. do you guys from this area meet in the retail park near burger king / tesco in kettering?
