Default rs accessory steering wheel

I have recently got hold of one of the 4 spoke steering wheels(later version with the 3 stripes).
Anyhow it came with a boss for a large turbo escort when i went to fit it to my small turbo escort(airbag model) it doesn't fit. ( i thought the column's were the same).
just wondering if any one has fitted one to their escort .
Any help greatly appreciated.
Regards Steve

no chance from ford mate, try demon tweeks or similar, you might need an adaptor as well to suit your new wheel

Well, managed to get it to fit with just a slight bit of modifying. Managed to use the ford boss that came with it. Just need to take the clocks out and remove the airbag light. Steve

Cheers Arty i have managed to get mine on thanks. Only needed to massage a small bit of metal. Your car looked good as usual on Sunday.
Could do with the number of the guy who straightens wheels that you was on about, if you don't mind.

The wheel you mentioned I think is a german spec wheel(i know they are avaible in the ford brochere, i bought a 3 spoke on the same for my MK5 RS2000, but when I went to ford, they said the boss was unavaible in the Uk. I mamaged to track one down later that fitted ( my RS2000), this didn't have an airbag though. If you find out the correct ford part no. I'll have a look at the box to see if it will suit. Good luck andrew@abcdrobinson.co.uk

Love that wheel, looks ace!

Got a momo champion, which i thought was the only way to go!

But now!!!

Was it a lot off work sorting the hub!!

Not really as i had a hub that eventually fitted on the column
,but it may be easier if you have an early cossy as there no airbag to remove. To be honest if you can get a hub to fit on your column then its only a case of drilling and tapping to suit the wheel.

I know sparco used to list a boss for an early escort cossy. If you have an airbag model i couldn't find anyone who listed a boss for it.
