changing rear springs on 4x4 cossie?

Default changing rear springs on 4x4 cossie?

sticking konis on my car on rear but its not as easy as the old escort rs turbos were u just umbolt top and push the hub down. what else do u need to undo to get the springs out of rear???

you need to undo the baeam plates mate

1 x19mm bolt and 2x 17mm bolts

but still a pain to get out be slightly easier

be careful when you undo the 17mm bolts though

if they go tight do them back up and keep doing this until the bolt comes out as by doing this it gets rid of the crap in the thread

but still be carefull as last thing you want is for a captive to snap in there as its a fairly big job to undo them then

no

as the rear beam is still up on one side and the diff mount holds the back end up

just need to do one side at a time

plus if you have std brake flexis aswell they give a litle move aswell to help get the spring out

to put it back up you just put a jack under it and put it into position

the main diff mount has a spacer that stick out to locate it back into chassis

that could cause problems then mate

you have to disconnect the brake lines and re bleed your system

as once the beam is dropped then all thats holding that side up is the brake line

I'd have used an angle grinder, by far the easiest way to get the old ones out
