Mine doesnt do it. Yeah it moves slightly when going up / down hills, but not to the red when I accelerate.

When you say it goes into the red, what is it's original position? Full, 3/4, 1/2, 1/4 etc ...?

I think its does it to warn you that if you keep your foot down you will very soon be out of fuel

I found that going downhill is the most accurate reading

Default fuel gauge

so are all you guys saying evertime you put your foot down even with half a tank your needle goes straight to red and then back up when you come off the gas

My fuel gauge was bad but never pulled tricks like that, it moved around but slowly not shooting up and down more like my boost gauge.

Well no obviously thats very extreme, but they all move around a fair way, throwing the car round corners/braking sharply/accelerating hard.

T28 RST, the fuel computer is as un-accurate as the gauge, guess where it gets its reading from...........
