Default PUMA 1.7 juddering

Hello I've just bought a PUMA 1.7 1998 and it seems to have a juddering problem. The juddering seems to be quite hard. It happens usually when I'm lifting of the accelerator pedal. I've heard the possible cause of the problem could be the hego sensor. I've disconnected the the hego sensor connector and it still juddered. I've disconnected the throttle position sensor connector and it stopped. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I have the same problem on my 1.4 (98) but it only seems to happen at high speed (80-90 Mph say)... I took it to the garage for servicing last week and they didn't find anything wrong with it.

Does it happen at low speed too?

Check the EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE DIFFERENTIAL SENSOR, (if it has one) will NOT show up as a fault on the ford software unless absolutely knackered though.
Had this on a few mondy's cause the same thing.

It wont run without the TPS connected!!! Try disconecting the MAF first, if it improves you need to clean inside the MAF.

hi mate i have just had the same problem and after bying all sorts of things from coils to maf sensors it turned out to be the lamba sensor this is located at the back of the top of the engine it looks like a upside down spark plug with 4 wires coming out i bought one for £42 and my car is fine did u have problems with power too mine would stick at 2000 rpm then shoot like a turbo and the engine would judder like it was going to stall then rev itself

hope this helps
