Lot of work best to get another car for bits(scrapper) as it is not just the wiring that needs changing.

Are you sure it's a carb? They didn't make carb escorts in '96. It must be a CFi version

If it's a 1.3 you'd have to use the bits of something like a Mk4 Fiesta 1300 or Ka which both have multi-point EFi.

You'd need quite a few bits like a new inlet manifold, ECU and sensors. They'd probably be quite a bit of wiring involved as well. TBH I'm not sure what you'd get out of it because an EFi 1.3 is only 60bhp IIRC.

Ok..Im not leaving it as 1.3..I have an 1.6 escort rs turbo engine with a t3 plus i have the ecu and map sensor from a fiesta turbo to fit into it,its a perfect 2 door shell and its a shame to see it sitting there..so with all the comments,i reckon it would be a case of getting a complete wireloom from an efi escort and transfering it all in.. ..Is there any way of just changing the wireloom that goes from the ecu to the engine without stripping out the entire loom..

As with anything where theres a will theres a way, but i couldnt possibly begin telling you where to start on here?

If it was there in front of me, for me it'd be easy..........

Thats because there is no specific answer to your question......if you're confident with wiring you could easily patch a fiesta loom into your car, or if not then yes you will have to go through the ball ache of changing an entire loom............
