Default does anyone how to set roof clock?

alright boys and girls can anyone tell me how to set the the roof clock? iv tried all way and stll cant set it iv had a few clocks and the same problem is it something im doing? or do you have to take the battery of at 12.

ignition off. Turn the lights on. then adjust

on mine i just push the buttons each side of the clock and it changes the time

On my old 3i it worked no matter what. But on my current car the lights have to be on

You have to ensure the ignition is ON otherwise it won't let you adjust anything. Have you tried that

ive tried adjusting mine with ignition on, do lights AND ignition need to be on?

Depends what clock you have there are 4 variants across the Mk3 & Mk4

All the clocks I've ever adjusted: S1/ S2/ non-Ford models, all you need is the ignition on, whether it be just on the key or the car running.
Nothing about the lights etc: they have nothing to do with it as far as I'm concerned (until proved otherwise ).

I've had experiences with all 4 different clocks and i agree you need the ignition on, and that only.

If he is adoment he has to have his lights on, hes either had his cars loom changed and they have got the ignition feed and illumination feed switched over, probably where the A pillar wiring has been cut, or the wiring plug on the clock has been soldered in wrong (the clocks illuminate with either an ignition feed or an illumination feed)

Im not lying lol! Im hardly gonna bullshit about a clock light
As i said on my old 3i it worked just with ignition but some reason on my current mk4 the lights have to be on. So obviously somethings been done with the wiring

It SHOULD work off the ignition, not the lights though

i thought mine was fooked the other week as it wasnt adjusting then i realised u need the ignition on for it to let u change the time
