I'm looking to buy a new camera.

It must be Sony and be able to record moving images with audio.

Any recommendations? Ideally I'd like to spend under £300.

mine is a Sony DSC-W50, would recommend it to anyone, i think its great! you can get the one model up from it W70 or W100 (top of the range one i think) for not much under £200 brand new, you can see the pics i took of the cars at the gumball for an idea of the quality (i have resized the pics though so theyre not at full quality/size)

I'm about to buy the Sony N2. Retails at £349 but as the model has been around a few months they can be had for £229! Blindin camera!

i've go the T30, does everything you want really for the price
shop around as there is about a £50 price difference between top and bottom prices

the only thing it doesn't do so well is take night time video footage, but with 7.2 megapixels and an average of around a 3mb picture size, it's a cracking bit of kit

 

Quality camera

 

I got a Sony W100, VERY impressed with it

Worth getting over a W30 or W50 as it has manual setting, its alittle limited, but better than nothing.
Also does good quality video too.

These are some random shots Ive taken with mine, and have been greatly resized in size, and reduced in quality by over 50%!

 

My missus has got the W100 (8.1 megapixels) and it was a fookin bargin!!! £200 off Amazon!

I've got the P200 (older 7.2 version) which i thought was excellent but the
W100 has more pixels and has a massive viewing screen... Very Very nice camera...

i like the P200 better than my current model W50
its quality, proper metal casing not the plastic crap used on newer models
perfect size and functioning too, probably one of the best sony ones out there i think!

I always buy Sony for most things electrical, I don't know why, it's just something I do!

 

ive just had the dreaded E18 error on my top of the range canon, its now fit for the bin, never buying another canon.

I've always been quite impressed with my Sony, although it is a little old now!

 

I think I'm going to go for the either the DSC-T20 or the DSC-T100, anyone got either of these cameras?
