Mine arent on the road at the moment, been a couple of years now, ended up sidelined due to me doing other things, but they will certainly be back at some point.

I find it hard to picture myself ever not owning at least 1 mini, great fun little cars.

weve got a mini clubman 1978 model

has been totally coverted into a rally car and has done a few events
it runs a 1480 engine with a single 40 carb with a straight cut box

now we have turned it into a road car and it goes like fook
and yes does handle like a go kart

i have a 420 bhp cosworth and a focus rs but the mini does give you
a big buzz

i was unfortunate to have to drive mini mags 1275 gt to our lockup - think its an x reg (old one lol)

witht he seat right back, it was still cramped and im only 6 foot, the steering wheel was like a bus, too flat and far away, you dont push the pedals, you stand on them
and they noisy slow piles shite

i have driven one, and unless im forced to, i dont think ill drive another

hateful things

I want a mini badly!!

found a few red coopers for sale on ebay, want 1 for a laugh as a 2nd car

think a 1600 twin cam rover engine and 5 speed box would be a riot,

red with the wide arches, wide wheels, 4 spots along the grill and a scotland flag on the roof

I had one, infact two as the Clubman estate in the background was mine as well

Loads of fun and go round corners very well with limited mods but good tyres.

Mine had a 1340 with a 45dcoe weber and with the 13inch wheels and a 3.1 diff fitted it used to get some funny looks on the motorway at over 100mph

I always hated them and was never a believer in them as i tended to associate them with OAP's. That was until my mate took me out in his 1340 one - handling was superb!

Got the upmost respect for them these days. Theres a guy local to me who has built a 1.6 K series turbo'd mini, and he gets some very good kills

I've had three, including bored/stroked/turboed.
Not fast as too much wheelspin, but awsome when going.

My first Mini was 1971 1275 Mk3 Cooper "S" when I was 18. Fooking loved that car but I sold it and bought a '78 Mk2 RS2000.

my 1380 with no rust, all the good bits, drives like a go kart, really noisy, very cammy, no-one wants to be passenger, agression release, and when it gets to 3k it really goes - till about 7.5k and ........
