the .48 etc is size of exhaust housing. Obviously the smaller the less lag, but you wont get asmuch power top end of the rev range. If you want to get close to 400bhp got for the .63 mine was fine! and never moan about lag as would just change down to get it in power etc

They are the a/r of the exhaust (turbine) housing. Smaller the number = better response, but at the expense of top end power, higher EGT's etc (as it becomes a restriction) not a problem if spec'd correctly though.

Some good reading here: http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...o_tech101.html

cheers for that lads

so obviously the best inbetween for power/lag is gonna be the .55

what sort of power would you see out of the 3 different ones?

running usual grey, 3 bar n RS500 I/C

would it be

.48 = 340bhp
.55 = 370bhp
.63 = 400bhp

im just making a complete guess here

tbh i dont hink the .63 is that laggy

you do notice it though but its nt much

i went from a std t3 running 24 psi and my god the car took off

after fitting the t34 you do notice the lag but its something you can live with as when it does come on boost you feell the difference as it feels stronger

so a standard t3 can give stage 3 (330bhp) but a .48 stage 2 t34 will only do up to 350bhp? not much of a difference between them then?

I would be surprised if a standard t3 did give a genuine 330bhp.

I'd read a .48 wouldn't get past 350 - 360 bhp
