4x4 has two returns

You can fit a 4x4 one to a 2wd car by blanking of the top one and using a 4x4 hose for the bottom

you cant run a std header tank and swirl pot

as you need 3 connection on header tank to do so.

od of 2wd water return spout is 7.88mm

od af 4*4 water return spout is 21.4mm

figures courtesy of dear old uncle tony

you'll have to get a 4*4 tank (only about Ł20 from ford) and then a T piece fitting kit and plumb into the existing water return from the turbo if you want to keep the swirl pot

theres been some class arguments about this being the wrong thing to do

ive run mine with and without a swirl pot and it makes no odds to anything as far as i can tell

No, the Standard plastic 4x4 Header tank comes with only 2 'tubes.'

A lower one to supply the water and the higher one for the return.

It doesn't have a return for the swirl pot. You will also find that if you are running any more power than standard they will start to crack really easilly, and you risk it splitting

However i you could put a T peice into the return and keep your swirl pot, just a thought coz i've never seen it done?

using a t peice really isnt a good idea, as the temp of water coming from turbo it fooking hot

either use std header tank an NO swirl pot or keep the bailey tank

Or you could fook the cooling to the turbo off and use the top inlet on a std 2wd header tank for the swirl pot!

due to the amount of miles it will do.

Lewis and Spiky
Most engine builders/tuners recomend that you remove the water cooling from the turbo on tuned engines so if its ok on them then why not on a road car?
I havn't had water cooling on any of my engines since i bought the car 18 months ago and have had no problems!
Anyway its up to you its your car

theres a difference in the bearing housings between water cooled and oil cooled turbo's

do not remove it unless you really do know better than turbotechnics
