Default Anyone got any OLD pics of Donnington Park?

OLD ie i dunno how long ago, but when the Melbourne loop was well over about twice as long as it is now.

Or just any maps of the old circuit layout.

Did you know- Donington is the oldest race track in the UK..

Came up in a pub quiz recently- we all thought brooklands but Donno pre dates it.

you can see in the background the old melbourne loop, this part of the track is still visable to this day, drive past the paddock entrance then past the hotel and turn right into the sunday market entrance, the loop( and hill) can be seen on the right have a look on google earth it will be on there
in about 1991 I drove up an down this hill one night whilst camping there while watching some truck racing wascool at the time

As you can see they used to go through the small bits at starkey's bridge....

That doesn't look anything like starkeys bridge as thats part of the circuit...unless thats the otherside of the trees and viewing area...

Dingy, its the old Melbourne corner etc etc where them pics were taken



Lee- Its part of the old Donny Circuit that in later years was Fords tarmac rally test centre or summat. I had no idea it existed either, but Glen did the deal.

Its huge and a LOT of fun, its like my dream back garden
