Done a couple of climbing walls and went too the foundry in Sheffield earlier in the week...
This place is amazing, the first of it's kind in the UK, purpose built to bring the climbing ability levels in the UK up to those of our European friends.
I'm very much on the first level of the ladder, BUT FUK ME, watching some of the experianced lads climbing the overhang, to put it simply I was in aww.
Going again soon, you get a real adrenaline rush

forgot to say if u like the adrenalin rush, get into a bit more so you are able to lead a climb, ie: where u take the rope up with u, clipping in as u go up & u will eventually fall off
that will get u pumped up

havn't been outdoors in th uk for a year due to lack of time
some good stuff in the peak district near sheffield.
If u can get someone else into it as well makes it a lot easier otherwise u will be paying for lessons & or a belayer as well as the equipement

i used to love it
havnt done it in over 10 years now though
we run a community centre with its on abseil wall and just a little climbimg wall as the kids are only 6-10
but we used to take them to lake district etc
love abseiling more tbh espcially freefall abseiling off bridges etc
alos if you do do abseiling aswell go down forwards as if your running much better rush

Yeah i'm trying to talk a couple of mates into coming as there into extreme sports... As I understand it you have to complete a 2 hour test of some sort which gives you a green card? once you have that you can come and go as you please.
I'll start indoors (controled inviroment) and then progress outside, no point running before I can walk.

most places will just need u to sign a form stating that u know how to belay & tie in safely & use the equipment. there no test as such.
If u want to teach though you will need to take the s.p.a. test
