Default Kent Camshaft CVH35

im using this cam with a standard ford pulley will i need to adjust the idle via the distrubutor as it is not idling properly even if i turn the idle adjustment screw on the manifold

yes, the timing will need altering.

yeah but, you dont adjust the idle via the distributer, that controls advance and retard.

Yes, which has a significant effect on the idle. Seeing as the dizzy is driven from the cam, it will need adjusting.

these things need setting up properly tho you just can't go waking it one way or the other until it idle right.

Yes, i agree, but if it's idling properly then it's someway towards being driveable

thanks for the replies guys took the escort to power engineering today and the guy tunned it up, he turned the dizzy to the right (advance i think) quite some distance as i only gave it a cm or so to the right
but the cars pulling quite well now with 256 Ilbs of torque

stage 3 head (ported and polished), cvh 35 cam, mahle low comp pistons, superchip, pace charge cooler
