Need a good printer, one that don't cost shed loads to buy refills for. Currently have a HP all in one (copy/scan/print) which is okay, and refills aren't too expensive (think I bought a black cartridge recently for under, or possibly just over, a tenner) and previous to that an Epson that was a nightmare to find resaonably priced cartridges for!!!!
Moving end of this week, and whilst it's not super important to get one ASAP, I would like to get one sooner rather than later...
So whats a good brand, small footprint (I like the HP as it's isn't huge), don't cost a lot to buy, and is cheap to refill. Must be a copy and scanner aswell as I found these really usefull!!!!! Don't need a top spec "photo" printer quality machine - the most colour demanding things I have ever printed have been a few DVD covers in the past....

Ive got a canon pixma ip5000 which takes separate ink cartridges for each colour which ensures you only replace the ink which you use unlike printers that have all colours in one cartridge.
The canon cartridges cost around £7 and the copy cartridges are available for around £2.
This printer is awesome, it has a dual paper tray (i keep one with normal paper and the other with photo paper) it does duplex printing, CD printing
and has a decent resolution of 9600x2400dpi
I can not fault this printer check out what Canon have to offer in your price range.

I would say that either canon or epson are easiest to get cheap cartridges for, or do what I did and get a continuous ink system it is great, just buy ink in 250ml bottles and keep the ink system full, it just sits next to the printer and connects to a set of dummy cartridges with 6 silicon tubes. Best method if you do a lot of photo printing, as It only cost £30 and that was prefilled with 100ml ink and a full set of 100ml bottles supplied, that works out at about 16 full sets of inks for £30, now I can get 250ml bottle sets for about £25 so will be even cheaper to run.
