btw remember who pays there compo and then remember whos paied for the prison sentance aswell

though the arresting officers should be made to also chip in some of the cash for wrongly convicting inocent people,,,, infact why cant them cunts spend 5 years behind bars to show them

its a farce some of the things that happen nowadays. imagine having all they years taken off you sitting in your cell knowing that you didnt do it ,hoping justice would eventually prevail. and then get kicked in the teeth with this when it does. would you be bitter? fcuking right

The guy was wrongly imprisoned - that's a shame.

He's still ending up with far more money than he would have earnt, and has had NO expenses.

So as a taxpayer, I'm glad we haven't made one person excessively rich, we have put some of that money back in to the system.

If he didn't get a payout then it would be wrong, but he did.

 

i know the figures for the compensation are HUGE... but really...

its not right... they were innocent, so why should they pay? should it not be the criminals that pay? rather than the innocent paying for criminals to live a cushy life on the inside??

If it had happened, then you know that their families would have got compensation, and then been sent a bill for the fucking bullets

the money you save shooting the correct ones outwighs the cost of the money you spend paying out compo to the wrong ones, so you have a net saving overall

or, even better, do like what they do in demolition man and stick them in ice cubes

 

As long as it is the right person I fully agree that they should be strung up but it has to be 100% strong evidence

 

Its meant to be beyond reasonable doubt anyway in the current system.

Sadly if the police fiddle the evidence, its easy to LOOK 100% when it isnt.

 

The rules of this game make me laugh - the villains are entitled to a right to silence (unless they are speeding motorists) and can lie their socks off but the cops can't!

As someone said earlier, I'm confident that 9 times out of 10, the folk that get wrongly convicted have got off with things at least as bad so I'm not going to break my heart for them.

I'll reserve my sympathy for the 1 in 10 that is genuinely innocent, but I do think that charging B&B is taking the piss.

If there is 100% PROOF then I'd quite happily see them shot - save the time, effort and cost of keeping them locked up.

If they are only convicted BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT, I'd lock them up and keep them there till they are PROVEN to have dunnit, then I'd shoot them!

Nobody makes those who are correctly convicted pay their board & lodgings when they are released.

Perhaps they should start doing that... bit like a student loan.... gets deducted from your salary for 5 years after you are released.


But to rob someone of their life and then make them pay is criminal in itself.
