Can the police fine you for using your mobile in ya car whilst stat ionary but with the engine running????

I think they can, Ive heard you have to have the engine switched off

Yes- the engine needs to be switched off....

I would prob want to make the car more "parked" too so prehaps half parked on the kerb.

One of Strathclyde's Superintendants got done by two of his own traffic officers within days of the points coming in for using your mobile - Ł60 and three points just the same as anyone else.

I use my phone as an mp3 player. Its connected to my stereo via a lead . Would i be done for using a mobile if i was changing tracks while driving and got seen.

Also did you know you can get done if your drunk and sleeping in the car with the keys Scary as i have done that once or twice when i have been camping as it was more comfy in the car than on the feild

I know mate i only found that out recently as ive done it a few times too. I think if you put the keys behind the wheel or anywhere outside the car then you should be ok (although not 100% on the law on that). At least it shows the officer you had no intention of driving.
