Default anyone welded there lambda boss whilst on car?

need to do mine for my closed loop anyone done it whilst exaust is on? or do i have to take it off?

Bad idea for fire safety reasons and it only takes about half an hour to get the downpipe off......

If you must do it in situ........

Disconnect the battery and take the ECU out,and use a good quality welding type fireblanket to completely cover the rest of the bay and the screen........Oh and keep a fire extinguisher(At least 5kg)handy

My Dad did mine last weekend, was not a big job at all and didnt move or disconnect anything from the car at all!

Before anyone even thinks of gobbing off he is a professional motor mechanic who has sucessfully run his own business for 35+yrs!
