windows media player 11, how do i increase volume?
as title! dvd's are just soo quiet, volume slider is set to max, thwe volume settings panel are all set to max and the volume up key (f8) is also set to max but it's still quiet.
Also dunno if it's connected but when the laptop is wired into surround sound theres a constant hissing/background noise/interference.
Any ideas folks?
it's a advent 7110 if that helps?

Is the Windows mixer set to max?
Start > control panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > open mixer
I "upgraded" to WMP11 from 10 and didn't notice any volume degradation
Play a track in it, and make sure you are on the NOW PLAYING screen. Open the enhancements, and go to the "cross fading and auto volume levelling" menu, and make sure both are turned off - that WILL make your music quieter if turned on.....
