s1 turbo front washer bottle

as above just got roung to stripping my passenger side front arch to spray and on removing the washer bottle found the wire for the pump and another wire (round plastic male/female connection coming from a sensor? in the washer bottle)which wasnt connected to anything .i have a flashing bottle symbol on the dash when first starting the car is it because this wire is not connected to anything.

Correctamundo.
If the level is low it will flash as a warning.
If the level is ok and the wires connected there's a fault in the wiring.
If it's disconnected, then it's senses an open circuit (fault) and flashes.
Same with any other dash lights that flash more than once with the iginition on: open wiring circuits. Normally brake wear sensors (if you have uprated brakes fitted) and oil light: not many have functioning dipsticks.
Any pics of your car/ resto around ??

Agreed as said the plug is for the level sensor. The sensors are pretty robust, i keep spares anyway though
rs shawn, the dipsticks are poo indeed, theres only about 2 ohms difference between low oil reading and full oil reading, mines never once said the oils low, even when the dipstick isn't in oil
