ive never realy posted on this for my project so i thought i would show you how mines getting on, i decided ive had enough of the rsturbo engine and want summut a little more reliable and usefull (enginewise) as i use
my cars everyday
so i bought a mk4 cabriolet and went about ripping it to peices and fitting a 2ltr zetec from a mondeo.
with the engine in and running i deceided to strip it all back down and get the engine bay now painted, i smoothed out all the spot weld marks and extra holes that had been drilled over the years... then retaped the loom, sorted the mess of wiring from the omex management and put catch nut in everything that needed fitting back on the bodywork to save drilling holes that will ljust rust larger later in life lol
wel heres some pics of how i got on and what it looks like now....

ive not reused any old fixings for anything, i thought i may as well do this rite...

smothed out all the castings from a spare rocker i got from friend, and had a custom engraved spark plug cover made

same people even managed to make me a stainless engraved vin plate....certainly beats the old crappy one

just the bumpers to flatten and prime and the outside gets its treat of a new coat of blue

hope to have it in colour soon as i plan on taking it to the central rs owners day at santa pod in april...

Well its been a while so i thought i would let you all have a look on how im getting on with the car....that ive just relaised ive been building for a year lol
The cars had about 4 coats of primer and loads and loads of prep work making sure everythings straight so it was about time i gave spraying a full car a go lol
heres the results

and heres the car back in my workshop ready for the car to be flattened and polished..then built back together

if anyone is a bodyshop worker and has the gear to flatten and polish the car, im looking for some (not to expensive lol) to come and do this... the cars had about 3 litres of paint on it and at least seven coats so i know there plenty of pain on the car, i just havent got clue when it comes to the next stage and would like a professional to get it shining....
