quick oil question

Default quick oil question

what oil are you guys running in your escort rst's? my spec is standrd engine with stage 2 turbo and s/s exhaust and air filter... lad at our local motorspares shop reckons my car should be running 5w40 fully synthetic but i reckon thats a touch thin?

millers oil 10-60 had no problems at all with it

5/40 fully synthetic is what i put in mine and mines been fine

5w40 is a bit thin tbh, i use 15w50 mobil one motorsport in mine

15w50 mobil one motorsport and 15-50 castrol are these semi sinthetic or fully sinthetic? and how much are they for 5 litres?

10w 40 Semi-synth GM oil.
Similar properties to more expensive oil at 1/2 the price.

10w 50 silkolene, can get it from oilman on here.

ive always used mobil 1 motorsport , its fully Synthetic

got some today and its gone up in price used to be about £36 for 5 litres now its £45 in halrauds

Exactly my point. The GM oil is £15. At that price you get similar working properties to 'branded' oil and can afford to change the oil twice in the time you would the Mobil stuff.
