Following on from ^NUTTER^s thread about him only just getting his engine.....who's got what to do to their cars????

Heres my list.....

Pickup new rear beam assembly inc diff from Milton Keynes & fit,
Pickup adjustable shocks & wheels from Somerset & fit
Fit new big ends & oil pump,
Oil & filter change,
Refit exhaust manifold
Build up turbo with cossie rear exhaust housing & fit
Fabricate 3" downpipe & fit
Refit exhaust
Finish off fitting boost controller
Fit oil cooler
Fit new radiator & slimline fans

Then if parts arrive from Belgium I'll fit my 3BAR MAP sensor, 355 injectors & new chip!!!!

Then if I've time I might do a bit of sleeping & drinking inbetween all this and may even give it a wash & polish if its lucky!!!

Oh yeah & tax the bugger!!! LOL!

Black 21Turbo Quadra mate - same as last time!!!

Taking a spare headlight & indicator incase I meet with the armco again!!!

 

 

Nothing at all, going as passenger (probably for the best, lol)

 

Got to get the car started and then set up which fingers crossed will be this week.
Fit new suspension which is in my garage as has been the last 5mths
Buy new poly bushes and fit.
Oh and sort out recovery incase it breaks

 

Nothing dramatic.
Poly busy the front arms. Fit 2 rear tyres.

 

I wish id done that this year

Get some milage on the gearbox
Get car checked over and set up
Fit coilovers
Get the 4x4 ready

 

Forgot about fitting my secs monitor aswell and oil pressure gauge

 

fill up with fuel

if i get some cash, i MIGHT swap the tyres for Eagle F1s, but thats the MOST i'll do to the car

Only a passenger side lower arm and the spare wheel cage to fit

Ready to go apart from that!!

 

sweep the straw out of the car
cable tie the broken wiper together
plod up the exhaust leak with p38
bribe the Mot man for a certificate

 

fit tax disc in windscreen, check screen wash and then change all the bulbs the on board computer keeps telling me have failed

may even wash the car,,,,,,,, actually fuck that

 

Change oil and filter, sort some breakdown cover! Oh yeah, and fix the boot lock.

 

renew my passport!

oh and i better top up some oil as when stu checked it 2 weeks ago he told me it was just below the min level

owning a bmw,,,,,, you just dont get a reason to open the bonnet,,,, infact im starting to find it a chore to stick the keys in the ignition

Get two snapped studs spark eroded out of the head...
Get 1 snapped stud out of the turbo
Build up the motor with new grp A gasket etc
Ultrasonically clean and flow test the injectors
Fit exhaust system
fit new front discs and pads
Drain fuel tank of stale fuel
Get running and set up fuelling etc
Mot and Tax
Valet
Etc,etc,etc(Must be loads more i missed )

Car has been laid up for 14 months so i`m sure there will be more minor bits...

This is the 4x4 by the way,the escos is sorted....

Oh yeh I'd forgotten a couple of jobs.....fit different clutch master & clutch slave seal kit & bleed system, fit new samcos, wrap downpipe & helicoil two cylinder head exhaust studs!!!

Lambchop.....our backup plans...we have a few dont worry...

1.) Walk
2.) What car did you say you've got again...
3.) Jump in with someone else
4.) Get a taxi
5.) I've got another Quadra we could go in
6.) Go in the trusty TDI Bora!!!

 

I am not technically on the same trip as you guys - not going till April 28.

But......

Engine out of car.
Block done
Head now completely stripped including valve guides.

So not much to do then!


But on the up side, I have rewired a good deal of the car

Go get cossie out of its box wash it polish the bling and go (just like any other week end)

 

Odds on it takes you longer to polish all those shiny bits than it takes me to fix my engine PMSL

Well i've got a weekend trip all around th country to pick up some shonky old Reno bits

To repair the car from it's last outing due to the driver (LEE) running out of talent on a minor bend

Good job i have a big van and trailer, i dunno what my mates would do without them

This year, I won't be posting that until the night before we leave .

 

It's not even ready and won't be for at least two weeks due to a calculation error made by the rod / piston supplier and they built the pistons etc to the wrong c/r . All in hand to be resolved in time (I hope ).
