Like you say mate its been tested and works. If the duct from my headlight doesnt flow enough air think i might molde a second intake from behind the 500 grill to get more cold air in.
Its very similar to mine col but mines has even more cut off the front.
You can get a look at mine at crail or if you come to get the springs.
Get some thin metal plate and screw it to the side of the box thats closest to the turbo

why not fit water injection that way you charge temp would be nice and cold .as its all well and good to have a cold air feed and a trick air box to feed cold air but the turbo compressor housing is super hot any ways I think its better to deal with the problem after the turbo rather before it

il have a wee look at yours when im through this week euan cheers
neil, i was going to run a duct to my rs500 grill on o/s aswell
also as for water injuection,my car had it when i bought it...in a box, never got round to getting it sorted out,it looks a bit dated/home made

well there is a big improvement to be had if you fit water injection and methanol a it will cool charge temp down and be will keep internal combustion chamber clean and will carry better oxygen every thing will = more power

water isn't injected for it to burn it will vaporise with the inlet temp and the methonol will burn as that is very cold also much colder than fuel if you spilt fuel on your hand its all ways cold menthonol is like 10 time colder my water injection feeds on the hot side of the intercooler the turbo outlet side and I run a .7 jet witch sprays the water and it passes through the intercooler and drops the charge temp down as boost pressurises it will exit out the cold side of the cooler allot colder and you know the rest how good cold charge temp can be plus water carry's oxygen

have you tested power with it on and with it off?
have you tested power with a proper intercooler that doesnt need WI?
I dont run WI cos I have tested all these situations
each to their own tho mate..
what works for some people doesnt always work for others.

I cant see how you wouldn't benefit form a colder charge temp but yet people are trying to get cold air to enter there turbo so that charge temp could be lower test have proven many time that water injection does bring down charge temp there are other things water injection can be used for other that charge temp. from the test you have done what did you find intercoolers will get hot eventually
