Default Help needed with vehicle wiring

Hi guys and gals

Wiring up my HID xenons to my mk3 mondeo tomorrow..... I've decided to create my own loom for them as the standard ford wiring isn't up to the job of handling them. They will be relayed using the original wiring though.

But, they will need a bloody good earth! Is it ok to run a negative wire from each headlamp back to the negative terminal on the battery, or would it be better at an earth point somewhere in the engine bay?

Thanks in advance
Rich

why do you need new wires?

HIDs take less current than std blubs!

Not when they are ramping up, they take just over 20 amps, then settle down to about 3 amps.
