Original cam tappets etc

The lad recons he's got 200bhp at the mo, with chip exhaust and filter. He recons with the addition of a stg2 turbo and a pace front mount it will be 250bhp

A very good stg1 engine/setup is 180bhp

rebuild bottom end
stage2 turbo
Pace front mount
chip
exhaust and filter

Thats all really stg1 stuff & an old cam..barring the Stg2 turbo..but it's only running at around 14psi, (any more and the pace interwarmer wont be much use, they are not much better than std)

The filter will be drawing in hot air....so i'd stick by my guess of 170@fly/ 140@wheels.

boXXer, At 16psi on a standard cooler the ACT temps will be off the scale, 14PSI the cooler is on its maximum cooling limits and not many people set them to run 14psi on std cooler, at max i'd run it at 13psi, i'd guess at an exhaust (filter...wouldnt use a cone, again raises ACT temps) a chip (cant run over 10psi without one) and a -31 and 13psi - 160@fly roughly?

figures seem to be exagerated south of the Scottish border for some reason?

Hiya mate. Thanks for that.

BTW, what would you call a "high" ACT temp? as i have a gauge coming off the plenum.

MJC has fitted a 4x4 cossie cooler, So I would think that a 2wd one would be pretty much the same..

Pace cooler's good for 190 odd horses max, to get past the 200 barrier he'll either need a chargecooler or go big front mounted really. Mine run's 18 psi on a pace chargecooler and made 190 horses, but that's due to the engine on just under 140k with no rebuild

What exactly is the purpose of a -31?, does it just help hold higher boost levels and avoid any possible spikes ?

why is everyone talking about it NOT having a front mount,it clearly states at top that its got a front mount pace, which ive heard are as good as grs and the like
with they mods, power is always dependant on condition of parts, timing, boost and a shit load of other things but could see upto 190-200@fly with 18psi or could be as low as 160@fly on around 13psi,stumbling block is always the metering head, that will decide on how much boost you can run,ive seen ones being sucked dry at 11psi

right, mine runs 160hp @ 13psi, so i take it thats about right? So, in theory, i should get 180 hp @ 16psi? As mine runs about 55 degrees ACT temp when on full throttle @ 16psi @ 5k.

Cheers
Mike

Good point, actually I just assumed it was the pace large capacity cooler.

Then again, look at the green shed..265@the wheels on MFI

boXXer, I'd say no, not just by turning the boost up...with a better IC/setup/bit more boost yes. 55 degree's is a bit hot already?

the green shed had a modified metering head just like mine and was running 2 pumps,i know mines ran out of fuel at 195@wheels,which is supposed to be quite decent for this, ive also seen my mate swhich ran out of fuel at 160@wheels and one at 120@wheels,its a hit or miss with the MH's
