hmm interesting question.. me and my mates saw an advers.. from halfrauds saying they would 'match' any paint if a pannel/wing mirror was brought in. we went in with the wing mirror of his Sti rype RA
and said match this.. they said we dont do paint matching.. we were like well the advert says you do.. they said nope nowhere does that!
Took the mirror down to the local 'brown brothers' (may be called 'newtone paints' now and they matched it straight away.. was cheaper too

Halfords certainly managed to mix some flint grey for my sapph, I think you take the paint code along and they find the "recipe" in their computer.
Not all stores may do it though.

Halfords need the colour code on the vin plate to match the colour for ya- i work there p/t unfortunatly!
they may be able to match it from there colour book for ya, but its unlikely !
hth!

in that case don't bother with halfrauds matey- go to your local bodyshop, get some paint, and then try to find somehwre to put it in a can!
halfords might, but they'll obviuosly charge ya!
