Default s2 rst brake trouble

im in the process of rebuilding a s2 rst which i brought im complete pieces and a mess, trouble is im now working with putting brake pipes on but can anyone tell me which holes on the master cylinder go to which corner of the car? or even some sort of diagram would be great? its none abs and the cylinder has 4 outlet holes thanks

The only thing i would say is to the best of my knowledge ALL RST master cylinders are ABS ones, so only have 2 outlets?

As for the piping, its diagonally split from the factory. Inside the MS there is basically 2 seperates cylinders. If you want it as per factory connect the front left and rear right to one cylinder, and front right and rear left to the other!

Doing them diagonally split wont affect how they operate, its just done like this from the factory as its considered better if a pipe should develop a leak.

so sounds like the master cylinder i have gotten is xr3i or equiv?... how will i plumb it in with the 4 cylinder though?

no idea yet as cars 15 miles away in a lock up and will only be going there tom... was hoping to put the brake pipes on tom...

23mm is fitted to all cars after 86 i believe. Throw the 22 in the bin its a piece of shit anyway thats smaller!!

What brakes are you running?

You may struggle to get a good pedal with a 23mm master cylinder.....ive got 4 pots and rear discs on mine and they are pretty shit to be fair

Other people apparently have managed it though.

Up to you if you want to try it or not

i had to fit a 25mm rst twin exit master to mine.
i have cossie disc's rear and 300mm fronts.
on a standard mk4 the restrictors in the lines are for the rear pipes and the brakes run diagnal, front left with rear right.
i split it like this;

thanks for the pic... any idea where i'd get the 3 way connections from as i now have the master cylinder but no 3 way connectors.....

YOU CAN GET THE TEE PIECE OFF A MK4 ESCORT THAT HAS A,B,S FITTED, THEY HAVE ONE ON EACH INNER WING. THAT THE BRAKE PIPES GO INTO,

you can get 3 way splitters from most good car autopart specialists.
they are just a standard T piece splitter
