Default Decent fuse/distribution boxes??

Anybody use something decent for power distribution round the car.

Basically want to replace my alternator cable and a few other bits and bobs, but dont want any shit shiny ICE gold bling fuse/dist panels. Would prefer just standard black gear. Would probably need a big inline fuse (70A+) for the alternator cable - then off to batt post. Then a splitter for maybe 4 live feeds. Trying to get rid of millions of wires coming off the batt posts!!

Anyone know of any good stuff/ places to get it?? Been on VWP but nothing flicked my switch so to speak!!

Silly question, but why do you feel you need a fuse between the alternator and battery?

Because normally there are fuse link wires in between the alternator and battery, which I don't have any more. So I thought I'd better have a fuse in there instead?? If I don't need to then great!!

I never had a fuse link or a fuse itself between the alty and battery on my cossie or E30

its the 2 wires that goto the ecu/fuel pump relay that have the fused links in them

My escort alternator cable split into 2 brown wires and attached behind the small fuse box on the pos terminal. I replaced the cable before and had an 80 amp fuse in (because there were fuse link wires, I presumed they were there for a reason) Had a 60amp, but that blew one day when I had everything on - heated screen, heater, back screen etc. Been fine with the 80 amp.
