'Famous' Names on logbooks - Adds value ?
If you have a car that has a 'famous' name on the log book do you think it adds any value to the car ?
If so how much ?
I know that depends on the level of Fame the person has, like having Pope John Paul on your MkII Escort makes it worth an absolute fortune but 'average' famous people.

*edited* your right it & sold for $690000
In these kinda cases imo its worth what someone is willing to pay, personally I don't give a monkeys who has owned the car previously but I do prefer a low number of keepers

I think all you peeps are mising the point, how can you prove its the actual famous person's old car.
My Dad's mate is actually called David Coulthard so if he sold his car the next person could blag someone saying it was owned by THE David Coulthard same with my mate who is called Andy Gray.

my chevy truck was last owned by Roger Daltry, but it's registered to his holding company. I got it for a bargain price, certanly didn't pay extra for the privelege.
got to take it back to show him whan it's done.

The reason for the question was...
I have this little Anglia for sale and it was owned by George Polley, the Hot Rod racer (see lower pic)
When I priced the car I took into consideration that Georges name is on the log book and to many he is god, to others they're not into Short Oval Racing and have never heard of him, to be honest I only added a small amount for that and just wondered if that was a fair thing to do really.

He had a HUGE following, and I would be very surprised if there was'nt at least 5 or 6 fans that would love to own that Anglia, and more importantly not flinch at paying a premium for an Anglia that he owned.

I knew there would be a short oval man somewhere on this forum
Well the premium was only Ł100-200 so hopefully not to much to pay really.
george polley was good but barry lee was the bizzo in a mk1 or 2

joe calzaghe's m3 is for sale at Ł19995, not the best colour imo and the seats match the body. Ive seen him on numerous occasions giving it a hammering. About 10 years ago a mate bought his old saph cossie which was a shed. He now has a audi convertable
