Are there any laws/protection against making apprentice's redundant when a company gets taken over?

I've read on a few sites they have to find you another job to finish your apprenticeship with??

Other sites don't mention it, so does anyone on here know for sure?

I am the apprentice

Did my 1st year at college full time off my own back then came here to work for my 2nd year and have a contract signed up until this september/october time. After that it was planned that if i wanted to i'd work here/be an engineer full time

Now we've been taken over and the whole company is moving to wales!

 

 

i think they changed the rules since i was an aprentice
you still have to finsih by the time you are 21?
is it a 3 or 4 years apprenticship?
how long is your contract for? if it's only a year the i think you may be buggered mine was for 4 years on the assumption that it was all in one go but after i had my accident i would have been 23 by the time i finished so they ditched me

age is irrelevant Dojj you dont have to finish at anytime if i remember correct
But Smidsy go to the Citizen advice bureau with your contract and they will be able to help you

 

Its a National Certificate in electrical and electronic engineering, in june/july i'll finish college anyway then my contract runs out in spet/oct
