Default help please s1 replica

ive built a s1 replica based on a b reg xr3i ive done the interior rs lump all new panels arches etc just got it back from a full respray and it looks mint in black, but the problem is it dont run properly if at all, when it runs its missing and the exhaust gasses stink of petrol and its mega rich all i want to do is get it running and i can get it set up and moted and enjoy driving it its just sitting outside doing nothing, and its getting on me nerves now ,
any ideas apreciated mechanicly it seems ok no banging or clunking, ive put new plugs leads etc on and the plugs get black as fook in no time, could it be the metering unit or have i wired it up wrong,i seem to be geting a consistent spark so im led to belive its fueling,i could be wrong as im new to rsts, if anybody knows any simple tests to eliminate certain parts it would be a big help as ive just seemed to be at a dead end now
thanks in advance

well for a start, makesure their are NO air leaks anywhere i.e. breather/boost-inlet/oil cap/dip stick side of things...car wont start/run proper if their is an air leak.

saqseries2 manage to repair his metering head by stripping it down and degreasing all the bits, then reasembaling it and oiling it, he had similar problems to what yours displays to

if your planning on changing the metering unit, then it cant hurt to have a go fixing it

right chappy try this bring the dizzy mark about 3 mm away from the timing mark towards the inlet manifold side, then under your throttle body theres a screw with a big spring on itt you can turn it by hand turn it outwards about 2 and half cm's or 3 then turn the car on alsoo loosen your throttle possition sensor towards the inlet manifold minen was miss positioned and car was a hoe to start if this starts ur car one time and its idleing high slowley turn the idle screw inwards till it reaches 1000 revs i hope this is your problem mine was
