Does anybody know any symptoms of a bad engine temp sensor?
How the car goes when the temp sensor is brocken?

it dosent show how hot the coolant is, lol

 

Unplug it and see if it runs better. iIt only really help on start up and cold running.

 

If the sensor is saying "engine cold" all the time, it will run very rich...

 

I was thinking like this. The ecu box getting lot of info fron plenty of sensors.

If the rest of the sensors shoes the engine normal (warm) but the engine temp is brocken, the ecu probebly getting the wrong info and cannot work very good.

If the sensor has failed closed circuit, it may think the engine is running at 120 degrees celcius!

If it fails open, it will run really rich and would probably be very difficult to drive. It will probably also black smoke.

 

dose that give problems of starting if cold cos my rst cranks for atleast 9 - 11 seconds then when its warm at a certain temp it wil start on the key then after it gose back to the same cud this be the temp sensor?
