Can you move dial up connections from 2000 to XP.
I'm not sure, in windows 2000 are the dial up networking connections listed under network connections ? can you copy it onto a floppy or usb drive ? Or even copy them across the network onto the laptop ?
try looking in the registry, not sure where mind you but the details are probably their, in which case you should be able to just export them to a .reg file copy/paste then double click on the XP machine, although this does depend on how the registry changed in 2000 -> xp

Similar sort of thing to XP's files and settings wizard, it's worth a go
