A mate of mine got done for speeding (good ol' SD30)

he sent his license away.

When it came back the points had simply been hand written on it!

Do you think its on there computer system?

When i got my 6 points (SP60) and i had sent my license away, it too came back with hand writen points on it !

Lately i had to get a new license (lost my other one) and this time is came back printed properly on it.

 

i had 3 points on my license hand written and when i sent it off for my adress change it came back all computer printed etc. so my guess is that they do have pcs but they must have only just figured out how to use em!

 

Yes mate, I had 3 for speeding which were hand written then got 3 for having unsecured passengers in the back of a transit, sent license off again and the first lot were crossed out then printed

 

I know of a couple of people who have had points hand written on their liscence and when they have requested a new liscence there has been no trace of the points Not that they complained mind you

 

Someone I might know (*cough*) got 5 points in 1997 on their licence and when they got the licence back, the points were handwritten on
When that person lost the licence (they did really lose it as well) , they applied for a new one which came back without the 5 points

So it does/can happen !!

 

Agreed as above i had 6 dissappear in the same way as above

changed adress it came back minus 6 points

I now have a clean licence

I've got 3 points which are hand written on but they come off in march anyway. If you've got hand written points it sound like the 'opps I've lost my licence' is worth a try.

Doesnt matter what it says on your licence, all records are now kept on a national database that your Insurance Company is allowed access to which is why not many Ins Co's ask for a copy of your licence anymore.

Ps: Ive had 3 hand written, and 6 stamped

 

Hmmm, wonder if I can't ditch the 6 I got a couple of months back.....
