Hi Simon

My plan for this year is to run 12s quarters constantly and to top 160 so I am looking at buying the turbosmart eboost 2 or any boost controller which I can have the boost mapped in progressively with the revs, then reduce the size of my brakes so I can run 15” wheels with semi-slick tyres. And a set of modified drive-shafts
To do 160+ I need to change crown wheel and pinion to either 3.5 or 3.3 I thought about going 16v but I cant even utilize the power I have so what’s the point having more power, but I will run more nitrous but less boost 50 shot is unreal cant think what 100 going to be like, in an ideal world two gearboxes would be better for me one with a 3.82 and plated diff for ¼ mile and then one with a 3.3 and a.t.b diff for top speed.
Do you find 300+ bhp fwd boring I mean once your body gets use to the acceleration they don’t quite do it anymore?

I do surf this site everyday and I have been keeping tabs on your new build I’ve also seen your posts on the wizard of nos website I just don’t post very often.

I do like my track days and hope to do quite a few this year especially castle combe I hope to have the car ready for central rs national day at the pod and lay down some good times.

Thanks

sean

On your driveshafts, where do they break? and why?

I am currently cutting and shutting the Focus ones with my ERST ones so any extra info is welcome.

they normally snap at the where they go into the cv joint and only happens on a hard launch thats why i never launched hard at the daddy thrash, but in order to get good times launching hard is the order of the day. i have been quoted £550 for the shafts they make shafts for drag car out of the same metal..
are you going mtx75 box by chance the best fwd gearbox ford have made you never hear of problems from these boxes.

i see what you are saying gus and maybe going progressive boost might solve my problem, and yes changing drive-shafts is alot less hassle then having to repair a gearbox.
changing the crown wheel should calm the car down and make getting off the line alot easier, gus hows your car coming on? and simon what is your aim perhaps the uk fwd topspeed record?

mine should be in paint very soon (being saying that for a while now, lol)

once painted its all systems go, bolting it all back together

just need a couple of things made when the engine is dummy fitted to car, like intercooler and new plenum. can finally get engine on the dyno then

let me know how you get on with the eboost, as i have one sitting in a box waiting to go in

Sorry I dont know who Paul is and what type of car he has?

Not quite worked out yet how fast, but the minimum requirement is 500bhp from the reworked big valve ST 170 head with Newman cams and 150 - 200 bhp from nos!
ps. just fitting the Max Extreme progressive controler in the car today.

Trying to get it built for Crail in March.

Simon.

The air/fuel link in the Extreme is not yet developed and no prediction when ready.

I did have a Merc SLK which I sold to help me set up Sitech Racing! my ERST is my demo vehicle.

i would'nt use the car everyday the clutch is a bloody nightmare but i wanted a clutch which no matter what i throw at it i would not suffer from clutch slip, its an ap cover with helix plates
brom at zoo motorsport machined my efi flywheel and fitted the clutch cost ap cover £320 helix plates £152 machined efi flywheel £240. then when the clutch is worn you only have to change the plates
