I'm 21 passed full test in June so no NCB, six sp30's I bought a GSX-R 600 SRAD and I'm paying £750 (third party only) as tpft was about £1200 and full comp around £3k

Not sure about nowadays but for my first bike when I was 19 (6 years ago) was a GSXR750 & I paid about a grand. Not bad considering the performance you're getting really but in comparison to the bikes worth it is...........depends how you look at it.

When i bought my srad the guy in the shop said he usually sells srad's to shorter people around the 5' 8'' mark because of the low seat height............ so you will probably look like a clown on a kids pushbike

I fitted on mine

If you get an R1 you will have to get a motortrade pol with motorcycle extension.

When I was 21 I used that for my blade and my R1

Was about £850 a year but that was TPO

No one will touch you without 2yrs no claims and usually age 25+

another thing to remember is the footpeg position on the bikes, as some as higherthan others.

The gixxers are very high and race orientated, whereas something like an older ninja will be somewhat lower as less cramped, as I can only ride for about 2 1/2 hours on the gixxer before my leg starts to feel numb and my wrists feel like they're gonna snap..... so at your height I think you'd be WELL uncomfortable on something like a gixxer/ R1 etc

FPMSL I'm almost 6'3" but 17-18stone & when I look at pics of me on any of my bikes, I made them look like mini-moto's

Lewis,

If you're taller than me you're gonna look like a tit I'm sorry to say.........looks like it's a Honda Africa Twin or a Goldwing for you my son!

as said my cousin races R1's and he's about 6'6 but alot bigger built that you lewis, and he looks very odd on the bike, also he found it very difficult to get his knee down for a while and when you that tall you give the bike a much higher centre of gravity, and it fells very unerving.

That aside before he got his race bike he had a CBR Blade 99RR and that bike was alot lot bigger than the r1 and that that suit his size wise much better.

So maybe a CRB 400FI or CBR 600F ?

bet ya dont do it

loadsa dreamers but nae many bikers

I'm bout 6ft 4 and fittin on bikes is annoying

i got ma cbr6 as 1st bike yr past may and with 9points i was £750 tpft on a 94 model with carole nash...no1 else came close.renewal this may was £380 thats down to 6points and with Bikesure

i want a blade or a gsxr750 nxt and they say at least 2yrs ncb for th blade.i get the feelin tho an R1 is gonna be too small for me and your a wee bit taller

i have had a shot of a ZX9R and its truly awesome but i almost felt cramped

oh beware however much u say u wont you WILL drop yer 1st bike i did

m8 passed his test 2 months ago and bought an 01 cbr6 for £4k and insured it tpft for bout £500 with 4 points.less than month l8r he dropped it.doin 90 in a 30 down hill to a T junction and he fell off but dunno how.bike slid down hill and t boned the front of a cop car headin uphill from left to right burst rad, wing, bonnet etc of cop car then bike flipped up n over into a field
m8 stopped right on junction which was lucky!
4k down drain and £400 leathers RUINED

timin eh?

im lookin down the cossie route at mo but would keep bike too.REALLY want a bigger bike tho
