Last night at 10.15pm, noticed four youths 16-19 playing with something across the road from where I live, could not see what it was, at first thought it was a ball, then one got a large piece of material and put the " object " in the centre of the material and two of the youths threw the " object " high into the air, then after a while used a piece of wood as a bat and the " object " as a ball. Problem was I still had no idea what the " object " was, after another 5-7 mins the object was placed ontop of a parked cars roof, then it struck me, the " object " was a baby hedgehog, I went outside to the youths, pushed one of them away from the car and picked up the hedgehog and took it home. I telephoned the RSPCA and explained what had happened, the lady said I was either foolhardy or brave to approach a group of youths and take the hedgehog away, I do not agree, all i did was stop them hurting this tiny creature. The hedgehog survived the night has eaten well and drank some water, its small though and fits into the palm of my hand, later today it goes off to a hedgehog rescue centre, will be looked after untill big enough to be released.

 

Good for you mate. Nice to see someone who cares enuff about animals to help.

WELL DONE i would have done the same, when i was in majorca two years there was a load of kids throwing stones at a cat and her kittens across the road from them so i put the hire across the cats so the kids couldn't hit them , me and the missus picked up the mum and the kittens and moved them a long way from the road and the bastid kids, wouldn't mind but they started hurling abuse at me and my missus, it just goes to show there are mindless f*cking kids all over the world who think it is funny to torture a defenseless animal
i personally think that they should all be tought a feckin lesson

I would have duly taking the bat off of them and proceeded to wrap it around each of the little fookers heads

 

Problem with society is that people will say ''lets just ignore the trouble kids as they'll soon grow out of that phase blah, blah etc......''

but chances are they won't and it'll spiral out of control until they are big time villans etc.......... they need a kicking (nothing too serious) just so as they think VERY carefully about their future and the way they act in life as just ignoring them or shouting at them only excites them and makes them think they're big and tough
