not exactly sure tbh, it's leaking from the bulk head aswel around the battery tray, and on the other side near the wiper motor i think.

but the back jus seam's to be a mistory
was leaking from the boot, but we took the seal off and put sealent around it and put it back on, and moved the boot about abit, so all the line's wer equal, and no daylight gettin thro, that does'nt seam to be leaking anymore, but there's still abit of water gettin in the back where the back seat is

jus cant seam to find where it's gettin in

Check around the sunroof area to mate...

The battery tray and fuse box area is bad on all mk4 escort front ends due to the small rubber stopper on the lip on each wing, where the bonnet rests...this stops the water running down the lip...instead it falls of and rest in batt tray and under fuse box!!

Cut a small bit out each like a wee tunnel so water can travel down rain gutter!!!

Prob solved lol

Your mate's water leak could also be caused by a faulty rear window seal, or possibly rust around the rear window somewhere, that's getting common. If it's got water in the boot at all it could also be rear light seals as they're pretty crappy. Sounds more like something to do with the rear window to me though
