I need information about %CO at idle, I have boost max 0.65 bar. I cannot set mixure without that information. some people told me that 0.8 is enougt, some told me that I must have 1.7 minimum!

I'm not 100% sure but I was told that 2.5 is about right for the %CO at idle as mine was 3+ and it needed to be turned down for the MoT.

the average fo a car of that age is around 2.0ppm so being a turbo i would set it slightly higher

If you not 100% sure on what your doing take it to someone that do know because as said to rich can be just as bad as to lean. I know id rather pay and have it done properly than DIY it and end up with a fucked engine

surley it depends on if the car is standard or you require more fuel as i thought MFI was a rising rate as the engine speed goes up?

i run 3% on idle and see very good AFR at the top end right to the limiter , this is on 18psi running around the 180hp mark

The amount hat the idel mix generates to a running engine at full chat is insignificant.
The reason for the lean settings is to please eco warriors, it does not work though.
Set it at 2/2.5%, and it will be a world of difference, even if set at 0.1 it will do no harm just drive like a bag of crap low down.
If you imagine the air going into your engine at ilde then at full throttle you will see what I mean the idle cicuit and co is nothing to do with main running and will have next to no effect

Idle CO is just that does not affect the main CO much at all, but as it adds to it it will have a very small effect, and very small it is.
If you imagine the air demand at idle and WOT you will see the point.
It will have a noticeable effect at low rpm low demand, much more responsive at 2/2.5% as it is running much closer to idle type air flow conditions, so percentage wise has more effect the lower the air flow.

its a tad high but it'll pass emmisions cos old emissions dont really give a fook

newer cat equipped cars need to be under .3% which is a cont when they were made to run .5% (missuses escort for 1) bastard gov messin about makin us buy cats and oxy sensors before we really need em

My dads mate who replaced the headgasket said to run it that much. runs cooler?!?!? Its had a stage 2 upgrade and boosts at 16psi. i have noticed that since its been set at that mixture as u pull away and the revs are quite low it does bog down alot but pulls really hard higher up the revs as the turbo winds in (but thats set by ecu isnt it?!?) its CRAP on fuel since the rebuild too its terrible! So it should be ok to set it at bout 2.0%???
